Rabbit Foot

Poster I made for a fictional music festival called rabbit foot.  The Chinese symbols are supposed to be "rabbit" and "foot" respectively.  I'm sorry if they don't actually say that, or if they say something offensive, or whatever.  I don't understand Chinese.

Two examples of the many type-treatments i've been working with.  Lately I've been hung up on 3-d lettering, for better or worse.  You be the judge.

Old school poster for the infamous El Dude Brothers.  I hope to make take the old school branding and make it like that of an old cuban cigar company.

Flashback: Sophomore Year

Some older stuff that I actually still like:
Poster for the Cormac McCarthy play "Sunset Limited"

and a poster for World AIDS day that was up in the GSU...booya.
the typography is actually based off a the album cover for "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.  I thought it was a cool reference.

De Stijl Art Movement Poster

My De Stijl art movement poster from last fall, along with some of the early sketches.  The whole thing is playing up the whole Mondrian (although he would have hated the the diagonals).  Playing with the colors and right angles of De Stijl is really fun.

My Haida Phase

Some experiments I did using the style of the Haida Native American tribes of the Pacific Northwest.  Those Haida know how to make awesome graphics so I figured I should do as they do, with my own interpretations of course.  I have some other sketches that may be up soon.

SFR Shirt Update

The latest design for after meeting with the lovely SFR ladies.  Patterns are fun!  Now work starts on the back.

New friends!

I've been doing a lot of work on some new illustrated guys for my senior degree project.  I'm not sure how any of them are going to be applied in the final product, but I feel there is much to be done with them.  Bringing some really fresh typography to interact with them is going to be the challenge/fun part.

Cut Magazine (Old Stuff)

A made-up cover and article for a made up magazine named CUT about Metric front-woman Emily Haines.  Its my first real try at making something look like a magazine.  Still some typography issues to sort out before its portfolio worthy.  The photos are taken from a shoot posted on her site, so credit goes to whoever did that.

SFR Shirt Sketches

The first round of brainstorming for this year's Student Food Rescue T-shirt.  I'm not totally sure blocky lettering is the way to go, but we'll see how it turns out.  Blocky could be nice since we are limited to one color, so I suppose we should show as much of that color as possible.   I gotta see how my lovely "clients" like it first.

Life in Orbit

A timeline project for class.  The orbital rings represent places I've lived in my life while the red dotted lines represent significant, long-distance trips I've taken in my lifetime.
I was going for a 60's space travel feel.

First Post Yay!

Hello internet!
Ok so I finally got my act together and I hope to better expose people to my work by keeping this thing up to date.  I'll probably put up alot of old stuff first, but anyway enjoy the view while you're here
